Hortipower
Hortipower was founded in 2006 by John Vermeiren, Dirk Van den Plas and Tom Lefevre, with a shared passion for innovation and sustainable horticulture. John and Dirk, who both come from a family of gardeners, decided, together with their wives, Karine and Lia, to take the step into growing tomatoes. As early as 1998, John and Dirk worked together to set up Intergrow, a horticultural facility in the US. This marked the start of their joint adventure, which ultimately led to the creation of Hortipower.
Since its inception, Hortipower has always focused on technology and sustainability. In 2018, they invested in hybrid lighting in their greenhouses, leading to an impressive 40% savings in energy consumption and an improvement in tomato production. This underlines their determination to use technology for an efficient and ecological future.

With their slogan “There's an art to growing tomatoes as sweet and delicious as candy!” Hortipower emphasizes its commitment to growing tomatoes that are not only sustainable, but also offer a true taste sensation. The company continues to innovate and strive for the highest quality in every harvest.
